Unofficial Galaxies was an exhibition of Star Wars collectibles and memorabilia belonging to an unnamed private collector. It was displayed on the 2nd level of Southgate Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from Saturday, January 20 to Monday, February 26 2024. The touring exhibition itself belonged to a company called World Touring Exhibitions (local) with specific exhibition page here (local), and according to my receipt, a local company called Special Events Photo (local) helped out with it too. Southgate itself had an event page located here (local) which I fully expect to be taken down soon, so I took a snapshot of it too.

I visited this on the very last day, February 26 2024, in the late morning, as I wanted to chronicle it before it closed entirely. For whatever reason, even though the signs said an adult ticket was $20, I was only charged $10 for entry. And they didn’t accept cash — credit or debit only.

Or maybe they thought I was a senior? Do I look that old now that I’m 40? Is it because I tried to pay with paper cash first?

The little exhibition hall was laid out with a number of exhibits, and a path of arrows guiding visitors from one to the next. There were not many others there, but it was not completely deserted either, I took my time and about four or five small groups of 1-3 people each passed by me in the 40 minutes that I was there. There were a number of friendly-looking exhibition guards too, as is to be expected. Sadly they were not dressed up in Stormtrooper armour.

I took a picture of the plaques that accompanied each one, and then a picture or two of each actual exhibit itself. I will lay them out below in order of below, without much commentary, as I haven’t actually watched the movies and don’t know much about the franchise other than what I’ve seen of it in computer games, mostly Star Wars: The Old Republic. SWTOR is the source material for the movies and other media, after all, right?
